Changing Name of Amma Unavagam Scheme in Tamil Nadu
The Kalaignar food scheme is to be introduced to replace the Tamil Nadu Amma food scheme. The Amma Canteen project introduced by the ADMK during the late Jayalalithaa regime in 2013 is considered to be the main project of the AIADMK.
The Amma Canteen project aims to provide food at subsidized prices, which prompted other states like Odisha and Karnataka to propose similar initiatives.
Panneerselvam said that the ADMK had no objection to naming existing government projects and that it was not practical to give two different names to the same project and that it was unacceptable.
Activist MK Stalin intervened and insisted that in the future the artist should take the necessary steps to implement the mother feed program rather than food.
